our story
Kennedy Blair + Co has been a long time in the making. My husband and I wanted to start a family, but when things didn't go to plan life took us down a different path. After much consideration, we decided to do IVF. After our first cycle, we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Mason. When Mason turned 1, we decided it was time to give him a sibling. We did another IVF cycle and became pregnant with our daughter, Kennedy Blair.
We were so excited and counting down the days until our daughter's arrival. But on February 5, 2020 everything changed. Kennedy was born at 41 weeks, not breathing and with no heart beat with Apgar scores of 0, 0, 2. As a result, she suffered a brain injury called HIE, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, which happens when the brain does not receive enough oxygen and blood flow. We didn't know if she would ever come home to meet her brother. We took things hour by hour, sometimes minute by minute.
Kennedy spent 40 days in the NICU and was released the day the country shut down due to COVID. Since then she has received several diagnoses, including one that took us across the country for brain surgery, and many more hospital stays. She is now almost a year old and has gone through so much in her short life already.
To honor how much she has been through and how far she's come, we created this special line of clothing and candles.
Every purchase goes to helping with medical costs and therapies to help Kennedy continue to thrive and tackle the world.
